D.C. United!!

by Edwin on August 6, 2010

in Futbol

If you have been a reader since the beginning then you know that my favorite team is the four time champion D.C. United. The team hired a new coach last year and at the time I wasn’t happy with the choice but decided to keep my mouth shut and give the guy the time he needed to prove me wrong.

The All-Star game marks the halfway point of the season and that game came and went, all stars lost by the way. It was then time to check how the team was doing and it wasn’t good then and it isn’t good now. After 18 games the team has a 3-12-3 record good enough for 12 lousy points and that is unacceptable!!.

Management did everybody a big favor by firing the coach this past Wednesday and they did me an even bigger favor because I was going to write an irate post asking for his firing. Why was that dude ever hired in the first place I’ll never know. The team has an interim coach, Ben Olsen, for now and I wish him nothing but the best.

So Noisy!!

by Edwin on August 5, 2010

in Just Stuff

One thing that you can always count on living in the big city is the noise. At the moment I am sitting on the couch watching TV and I can hear a few helicopters that have been there forever, sirens, an ice cream truck that for some reason parks across the street from my place pretty much everyday, dogs barking and kids going crazy next door. If I was a betting man I would bet that the helicopter and sirens are because of some idiot running from the police, normal around here you know. It usually is not this bad but for some strange reason it is today, I wish I could just get away to a quieter place even for a couple of hours but sadly I can’t.

The End?

by Edwin on August 4, 2010

in Just Stuff

So I had this dream last night where the whole planet was covered in water and we were living in man made islands. We couldn’t go in the water because there were huge monsters in it. The Navy ships flew and were huge, in one of my dream sequences I was looking up at a Navy ship flying up right above the floating city when it blew up and it was announced that over 15,000 had died in it.

In another sequence I was with a female, in the dream I knew her but I can’t remember her face or name now, in the belly of the island city and there was a leak from some machinery and if a drop from the leak were to hit you it would go through you, I then looked at my shirt and saw a bunch of holes in it but I was fine and then I woke up.

Dreams are so much fun.

Bruno Update

by Edwin on July 30, 2010

in Uncategorized

Last Friday my nephew and I took my brother’s dog, Bruno, to the vet for surgery and now it’s time for an update. Well, he is doing very well, surgery went according to plans and the removed tumor was benign which was great news. He is wearing a cone around his head and will be until next Friday but other than bumping into pretty much everything and turning over water and food bowls he is dealing with it pretty well.

500 Million Facebook Users?

by Edwin on July 28, 2010

in Technology

I am pretty sure that you heard or read that Facebook had reached the 500 million user mark last week. However, in the many articles that I read nobody ever asked or has ever asked as far as I know, how many of those 500 million users have double accounts?. I remember reading an article a while back about a woman saying that she had one account for friends and one for customers which leads me to believe that she isn’t the only one doing it. What percentage of people are doing that, 5%, 10%, I don’t know but I would love to find out the correct answer, what about you?.

I Want Those Androids!

in Hobbies

As you know, if you have been reading this blog for a while, I changed phone companies a little more than a year ago. One of the main reasons that I decided to change was because I was intrigued by the Android OS and ever since I have been using I have become a big fan of it.

Sometime in January, if I remember correctly, I read an article about some Android toys, check the picture down there, that were going to be sold but by the time I checked it out they had been sold out, just my luck.

Last week I read that once again those Androids are going to be available and I plan on getting me some as soon as I can, yeah.

Vet Appointment

by Edwin on July 23, 2010

in Uncategorized

Today I woke up early because my nephew and I had to take my brother’s dog, Bruno, to the vet, he has a tumor that has to be removed.  We got there, we went into a room, they checked how much he weighs, 74 pounds, we went back to the room at which point the vet gave him a shot and just like that he was out cold.

He is such a loyal, loving and tough dude that just seeing him out like that broke my heart. In the end we all know that the surgery is for his own good and sooner than soon that tough, loving and loyal dude will be back home and back to his old self again and that is the way we like it.

Fantasy Futbol?

by Edwin on July 22, 2010

in Futbol

I have been playing Fantasy Futbol since ‘08 and was so looking forward to it this year. Before the season started back in March I went to the official Major League Soccer site to pick my team but to my surprise I couldn’t find it.

I know that I am pretty late writing about this since we are almost halfway through the season but hey, better late than never, right?. Now, if you know what happened to Fantasy Futbol then by all means take me out of my misery and let me know.

90 Degrees

by Edwin on July 16, 2010

in Just Stuff

It is a hot day here in sunny Los Angeles, at the moment Sunshine’s weather gadget reads 90 degrees. Yesterday was just as hot but at least we had a nice breeze so when I sat under the peach and lemon trees it felt so nice but today there is no breeze, not yet anyway, so I don’t think that I have to tell you how it feels. In the meantime I am just going to relax, indoors of course, watch TV and drink honeydew melon juice, yeah.
