So The Amazing Race 17 is in full swing, have I ever mentioned that in my opinion it is the best reality TV show on the planet?, and I am already out. My last team was eliminated last week and that means that I finish 5th this season. For the rest of the season I have to put up with everybody else giving me such a good time for my early departure, yep.

I am pretty sure that by now you have heard or read about how much teens text, the average being 3,339 texts a month. I read that article and was not surprised or shocked at all for the following reason. About a week prior to that article I was having a conversation with my sister when the topic changed to her phone bill.
She then showed me just how many texts my nephew had sent and the number really and I mean really surprised me. The number was more than 12,000 texts!, yes, you read that right. At the time she asked me to take a picture but I passed on the opportunity and when I asked her again for the bill so I could take a picture to show you it was too late, she had already shredded it, just our luck.

Hey people, I am back after hibernating for more than a month. I will have more to say about my hibernation on another post. In the meantime let me tell you about the weather here in sunny and hot as hell, not that I have ever been there wink wink, Los Angeles. Yesterday was 103 and today it was only 112 degrees, I think that is a new record by the way, and last I checked summer was officially over last week. I sat under the peach and lemon trees but not even that was enough to keep me cool so I just sat on the couch and ignored the heat, that worked out pretty well until I fell asleep only to wake up sweating like I had been listening to oldies, get it?, no. Anyway, according to the weather dude we still have one more hot day to go this week and then things will get back to normal, heck yeah!.

My first draft was 469 words and I was barely halfway through my post so in the end I decided to cut the fat and just tell you what happened. I was sitting down leaning forward just watching TV Monday afternoon at about 3:45 pm when all of the sudden I quickly tried to get up but didn’t get up at all and in that swift movement I felt something in my lower back.
To make a long story short I have been in pain ever since. Not long ago I wrote a post, you can read it here, and in it I mentioned that I was feeling a lot better and at 90% power. Anyway, I am once again back in pain and I am not liking it at all. That familiar burning pain is back in leg, I am walking a bit crooked, can’t sleep on my right side because of the pain and that has had me down ever since.
It has been a pretty tough week for me and I hope, really hope that it is nothing more than a pulled muscle and that I didn’t re-injure myself because that would be really devastating. I just don’t wanna go through that again.

I got up this morning, or evening, took a shower and decided to wear my old destroyed jeans. They are old and have a few holes here and there and I like them, I think that I have mentioned them before. I put them on and to my surprise they fit rather tightly and that surprised me because when I was working I would wear them and they weren’t as tight, in fact they had a loose fit to them.
I have to admit that I might be a bit, just a tiny bit, out of shape but that is because I haven’t worked in the last 8 months, has it been 8 months already?. I go to bed late, I wake up late, I eat, sleep, play MW2, you get the point.
Maybe I should start working out again now that I am feeling better, I am not talking about lifting weights or cars, just some light stretching and walking to start and see what happens.

We had a bunch of family over to celebrate my sis graduation and that was fun even though I don’t like parties that much. Something funny happened to me at the party, I went to the cooler to get a Sprite, I opened it up and grabbed what looked like one. I went back to my seat and was wrapping a napkin around it when I noticed that it was a beer, yes, a beer!. So, when I noticed that it was a beer I looked at my nephew and my brother’s gf and we started to laugh at which point I got up and took the beer back to the cooler and grabbed a Coke instead. Afterwards, we were talking about it and they told me that they didn’t know what was going when they saw me with that beer in hand because everybody knows that I don’t drink. I’ll make sure to double check from now on whenever I go to a cooler to grab a soft drink.

I have written about my destroyed shirts and how cool I look in them. Well, about a week ago I was surfing the net and found an article about fashion, don’t know why but I clicked on it and there I saw a t-shirt that cost $1,625 and looks just like the ones I wear. I even saved the image and If I could show it to you I would.

Last month my girlfriend and I decided to go to the Getty Museum but instead of taking KITT, I mean my borrowed car we decided to take the bus. So after some research we found out which buses we had to take. We left early Saturday morning at about 9 am and quickly got our first bus, line 1 from the big blue bus from the city of Santa Monica. We got off at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Westwood Blvd and there we waited for the MTA line 761.
Once on the 761 and after a couple of stops and since I wasn’t sure if the next stop was the one we were supposed to get off at I asked a kid sitting a few seats away if the next stop was the Getty Center stop to which he replied, “I think so”, I said thank you and when the bus stopped we got off. Well, that wasn’t the stop. So then we start to walk, we keep walking and we run into a guy having a smoke, I asked him how far the Getty Center was, “from the light half to three quarters of a mile” he replied pointing straight ahead so we headed that way.
Next thing we know, we are walking, and walking and I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on that kid, if I ever were to see him again that day or ever again which was highly unlikely. The sun was beating on us and we were already sweating a bit, then all of the sudden from behind me I hear “Snape, snape, severus , snape”, I then stop and when I turn around my girlfriend goes, “Dumbledore!”. I then wondered if the heat had finally gotten to her and was ready to call 911 when I remembered that she was singing a song from a Harry Potter You Tube video she likes. We smiled and laughed and continued on our painful trek.
Then after some 25 miles of walking without water or shade, ok maybe not 25 miles but you get my point, we finally got to the entrance with aching feet, sweaty brows and eyes wide open looking for that kid. Moral of the story, don’t ask kids for directions and don’t wear flip flops.

I was minding my own business, the way I usually do, when I decided to check my e-mail. I then noticed that I had an e-mail from AT&T Wireless, I checked it and it was a remainder that my bill was available for viewing and that If I wanted to I could pay it right then and there and if I didn’t do that autopay would be applied later on this month.
First thing that caught my eye was the amount, I went over my allocated minutes and I knew that and was expecting half the amount. Then after doing some quick math I found out that I was charged .49 cents for each extra minute!!. That is when I asked myself, when did the policy change?, if I remember correctly it used to be .20 cents for each additional minute you went over and I don’t remember receiving a letter, e-mail or anything for that matter informing me of any changes, that is wrong in my opinion but then again credit card companies and wireless companies seem to be able to change the rules midway and always to their advantage. I sure wish that someone would look into that and the sooner the better for us consumers.
I then went to their site and lo and behold they have a new price structure for over the limit minutes, depending on your plan you can pay from .35 cents to .45 cents. I am guessing that since my plan is older that is why I was charged .49 cents, So, if you have AT&T check your plan details to see how much you will be charged for over the limit minutes, don’t let what happened to me happen to you.

There was another quake yesterday, I was just minding my own business when the 4.0 quake hit. The shaker it’s probably an aftershock to last Sunday’s 5.0 quake which has since been downgraded to a 4.7 on the Richter scale. The only thing that you can do about quakes is to be prepared because just like mother in laws they just show up when you least expect them, for the record, I have no mother in law and that is the way uh-huh, uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh…………………….sorry, just couldn’t help it.
