Last month my contract with T-Mobile expired and now I am a month to month customer and as a result I have been checking out the other cell phone carriers. I have been looking for 2 things, a good deal of course and a Windows Phone. I have found Windows Phones at each carrier but not good plans and that is why I will stay with T-Mobile. My new phone is going to be the Dell Venue Pro, it’s a little bit bulky from what I have read but that doesn’t scare me one bit. I will probably sign up for a new 2 year contract and get the phone August 1st because I am cooler than cool and you know it.
My old account was set to expire at the end of December so before that happened I went looking for a new webhost mostly because I wanted a better package. I could have gotten one with my old host but I would have had to pay quite a bit more and money is tight right now. So I went looking and after doing some research I chose bluehost. I got the package that I was looking for so then it was time to get ready for the file transfer, I did some research on how to do that and I was ready.
I signed up with bluehost and then quickly set up my blog, I then saved my files to Sunshine, my laptop, imported them to my new blog and soon after doing that I closed my old account. The only problem I had when the files were imported was with the pictures, everything else went according to plan. I already updated a few of them and if you read a post and the picture is nowhere to be seen you know why. I am just glad that I didn’t put a picture in every post.
Note: there are more steps involved when transferring a blog than the ones I mentioned just to let you know.
A long time ago in a galaxy far away I used to have, I still have it by the way, a windows phone, my Motorola Q Global and I loved it. Currently I own a G1 that runs the Android OS and I love it. The Android competes with the iPhone and Blackberry all three are considered smart phones.
This past Monday Microsoft came out with their new Windows Phone 7 OS and I have to be honest, I like it a lot and thinking of getting it as soon as I can upgrade. I have watched walkthroughs, demos and it looks great but I am going to have to wait for actual consumer reviews to see what they have to say about it.
I do have some advice for Microsoft, get rid of the “Phone 7” and just go with Windows Mobile.
I am pretty sure that you heard or read that Facebook had reached the 500 million user mark last week. However, in the many articles that I read nobody ever asked or has ever asked as far as I know, how many of those 500 million users have double accounts?. I remember reading an article a while back about a woman saying that she had one account for friends and one for customers which leads me to believe that she isn’t the only one doing it. What percentage of people are doing that, 5%, 10%, I don’t know but I would love to find out the correct answer, what about you?.
After waiting, and waiting, and waiting and a lot more waiting the new Windows Live Writer came out today. I woke up late as usual, got online and then I saw that the new Live Writer was available. I downloaded it as soon as I could and I am using it to write this very post.I like the new look and interface a lot, just takes some getting used to. If you use the newest versions of Microsoft office then you’ll be familiar with the new ribbon interface. Click here if you want do download it and give it a test drive. One more small test to go, I am going to post this and see how it looks. I had to stop using my old version of Live Writer because it started to act up, hopefully that won’t happen again.
It has been exactly a year since I moved from AT&T to T-Mobile. At the time I was looking for a better plan with more minutes, Internet and text and after doing a lot of research I decided to go with T-Mobile plus they had the HTC G1 running the Android OS and I really wanted that phone because of all the cool apps, more on that on a different post.Call quality has been pretty good, dropped calls I had them with AT&T and I’ve had then with T-Mobile as well, nothing is perfect after all. Overall I have been pretty happy with T-Mobile and would recommend it to anyone but as usual, don’t take my word for it. Do as much research as you can and then decide for yourself.
My old printer died about a month or so ago and that meant no printing, scanning or copying. I finally decided that enough was enough and sent my sister to buy a new one. She got it and I had to install it, that took me about 30 minutes but well worth it. So now I can print, scan, copy, fax and network, whatever that means, with the Epson Workforce 315 that only cost $69 dollars and with taxes the total price came out to $76.81 which wasn’t that bad. I still have to set up the fax but I’ll do that tomorrow or the week after, hey I do need a break you know.
So much has been going on around here that I forgot to mention that I finally took my laptop Sunshine to see the doctor about two weeks ago. I had allocated $200 dollars because I just didn’t know what the problem was or how much it was going to be to fix it. I took it in I was told that it could either be a software or hardware problem with the hardware problem being the more expensive to fix. I then was asked if there was something that I wanted to have backed up and I said my pictures, it wasn’t until later that I remembered that all my iTunes songs and a lot of my business ideas were in there as well. In the end the problem was software and I ended up paying $75 dollars which wasn’t that bad and when I checked I had all my songs and business ideas still there, yay for me.Now for the bad news, the speakers don’t work and the screen seems dimmer than usual when I don’t have it plugged in. I am going to take it back as soon as I can but as you know that might be a while, yep.
After being PS3′less for the past week I decided to NIKE and so on Saturday I went and got me a new one. So my nephew and I headed out to Bestbuy at about 10am this past Saturday, got the slim PS3, a new Call of Duty 4 game, the old one is still stuck in the broken PS3, an extended 2 year warranty and reserved my copy of Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, more on that when I get in in November. The new PS3 is a lot quieter and lighter than the old one which is all fine with me. The only drawback for me personally is that it doesn’t play my old PS1 or PS2 games like the broken one did. So, on Saturday night I gave it a thorough test drive which basically meant that I played all night into Sunday, went to bed at 10am and got up at 5pm on, now if you don’t mind I have a date with my PS3 and COD 4.
It’s official, I am going to have to buy a new PS3 because that lousy yellow light of death killed it and from what I read overheating seems to be the cause of the majority of the problems that cause the yellow light of death. I also found out that I can either send it back to SONY so they can fix it for only $150 dollars plus tax of course or I can find someone that will fix it for a lot less. After giving the issue a lot of thought and because going through COD 4 withdrawal is not fun at all, I have decided to buy a new one with an extended warranty of course and down the line fix the other one so I can take it to work and play during my lunch breaks. Now if I could only get COD 4 out of it or else I am going to have to buy a game as well.
