The weekend was a very short one for me, mainly because I spent most of it playing Call of Duty 4. I stopped playing for a while but once again I am at it like crazy. It’s a cycle with me, I play a lot for a while and then I stop for a while and in the process I go to bed late and wake up even later, wait a sec, that is always the case so I should not blame COD 4 for that. I do have to say that playing online with other people it’s so much fun specially when you play with your friends. I think that I am going to have to write a post with my updated stats but I don’t know if I should wait until I reach a certain milestone, which is very close, or do I just update?, I am going to have to think about this one for a few.

Everybody know that I am a gamer, that is to say that I play video games whenever I can. One of my favorite computer games is called X2: The Threat, it is a space simulation game in which you can pretty much do whatever you want to do. You can have factories, you can mine, you can be a pirate or hunt pirates. I have not played X2 in a while but when I do I can’t get enough of it.
Last week I was checking my mail and there was an ad for a game called Eve Online so I then went to the official website. To my surprise Eve is just like X2, you can trade, you can be a pirate, you can have your own corporation and that caught my attention. I also have the game that I bought a while back but never even opened the box because you needed an Internet connection which I didn’t have at the time, I am going to look for it and check it out. You can play the game online for a $14.95 monthly fee but you can sign up for a free trial before you commit. I wish X2 was online and If I had to pay to play it I would do it in half a second, in the meantime I am going to check Eve and then decide if I want to give it a try.

As you know during the weekend I watched a few movies including Resident Evil Degeneration. I am such a big fan of the Resident Evil games that as soon as I heard of this movie I just had to get it and I did last Wednesday. That night when I got home I watched it and I honestly was not that impressed with it. The movie is 100% CG and I was expecting something spectacular, well the scenery looked good but the characters that in my opinion have to look the best looked right down crummy. Saturday comes around and after watching The Net with my nephew and almost dying of boredom I decided to give Resident Evil Degeneration a second try and see what he thought of it. Well, he agreed with me that the movie was horrible, needless to say I was so disappointed that I thought of returning the movie but I can’t at this point according to the Best Buy return policy, so I am stuck with it.

As you know I am a natural born gamer, I have been playing video games ever since I can remember. The game that I just can’t seem to be able to put down nowadays is Call of Duty 4 and ever since I first played the online mode I was sold and have been playing it ever since. At first I used to be real bad at it in but like most everything in life the more you do something the better you get at it and this is no exemption. I have some good games and I have some bad ones as well and I am not ashamed to admit it. I still consider myself an ok player and believe me I have played against some really, really excellent players. Something that I sure wasn’t expecting were those hate messages, believe it or not I have received a few of those. I didn’t answer any of them because to me they were just funny, I was obviously playing good and some people on the other team didn’t like it. It is just a game people, relax, enjoy the game a have fun, now if you’ll excuse me I just have to play a couple of games, catch you later.

Iron Man came out yesterday so you know I just had to go and get it and that is exactly what I did. I went to a Bestbuy that is close to work and got me the ultimate 2-disc edition Blue-ray Iron Man movie, oh yeah. The store had some free buttons so I went and got two of those, I put one on my backpack and I am looking for a place for the other one. As soon as I can I am going to sit down and watch it and when that happens I’ll let you know what I think of it or I can tell you right now that I know I am going to love this movie, hell yeah.

I have been a comic book reader and collector for a while now. I love the art, the stories, the characters the comic books themselves. Sadly I have not bought my regular comic books for a while, I don’t remember how long to be honest. My local comic book store which was so conveniently located close to my job closed and left me high and dry.
I am left with three choices, start going to a store on Melrose Avenue, a store in Santa Monica or stop collecting all together. I think I am going to have to go with choice number two and start going to the store in Santa Monica, besides it is closer to my job and also close to the beach and that doesn’t hurt one bit.
These are the comics I was collecting before the store closed.
- Savage Dragon: By far my favorite character of all. This guy is green and tough, can take a beating and keep on ticking, believe me.
- Green Lantern Corps: Did you know that I have my own power ring and that can only mean…….
- Ms Marvel: Blonde and……………….I better not say anything more.
- She-Hulk: She is green and strong just like her cousin and I happen to like green women.
- Thor: What can be said about the god of thunder?, stay out of his hammer’s way?, only if you want to.
- Capt Edwin: One of the most powerful SPB’s on the planet, tall, dark and oh so handsome.

If you remember I wrote about my Call Of Duty 4 stats back in January, you can read it here. More than a month has gone by now so it’s time for an update. Check the picture below to check my stats as of 2/26/08. I still don’t think that I am addicted to the game, I wrote a post about that subject and you can read it here, I play maybe a couple of hours a day and on occasions I do play a lot but not that often. My favorite game is Domination, we basically have 2 teams of six each fighting over 3 flags. The more flags you control and the longer you protect them the more points your team gets until you reach the point limit. I like playing specially against teams just because some of them think they are so good and some really are. I think playing against good players makes you better. I can honestly say that I am not the best player, I am just an ok player.

I know, I know this game seems to have taken over my life but that is not the case. I play maybe every other day now and for about an hour each time. I don’t think that is so bad. In fact after my post Addicted to Call Of Duty 4? ran on January 4 2008 I stopped playing for about a week and as a result my stats went downhill. Check the picture below to see my rankings as of 1/14/08. You can see my rank, my score, how much I have played, how many kills and deaths I have and you can see my name, Capt. Edwin. When I first started to play COD 4 I used to, in the famous words of my nephew and brother, suck but as time went by I got better. I am not saying that I am the best, no. What I am saying is that I am an ok player that knows the ins and outs of the game. To me it is nothing but nice, clean fun.
