50/50 Back to Back

by Edwin on January 17, 2011

in Hobbies

Earlier today I was playing Black Ops and I had my first back to back 50 kill games in Black Ops. I don’t think that I ever did that on Modern Warfare 2 or COD 4 to be honest; I did have some great games but never back to back 50/50 games. Anyway, I was 54-16 in game one and 50-14 in game two winning both games of Domination which I don’t usually play alone anymore. At some point I will probably write a post about my stats but that some point is not today, I know, bad joke.

Damn Professional Mode!

by Edwin on January 12, 2011

in Hobbies

I mentioned in a post last week that I have been busy, real busy, playing RE5. I am currently playing on Professional and what basically means is that you have to be real careful because one hit will put you on dying mode and if Sheva doesn’t heal you right away and believe me, it has happened more than once, you will die.

I recommend that you beat professional mode with infinite ammo guns that you’ve upgraded, the simple fact that you won’t have to reload will save your life quite a few times. I am using the infinite ammo RPG, M3 shotgun and the L. Hawk Magnum. If you play smart you won’t have that many problems until you hit a few walls, I started great until I hit wall number one by the name of Ndesu, this dude is basically El Gigante from Resident Evil 4, took me a while to beat that guy but I did it.

Then I sailed along until I hit wall number two by the name of Wesker. This is the first time that you face him, you also face him in the last chapter by the way, and so far it has been quite a pain. I have died so many times mostly thanks to Sheva, I can be dying right next to her sometimes and she won’t do a thing, it’s not even funny. I have tried a few things so far but nothing seems to work and that can get frustrating.

When I finally beat Wesker I am going to take a picture and I might just put it on a post depending on how embarrassing it is.

Just Gaming

I have been playing Resident Evil 5 a lot lately, I originally got the game when it first came out back in ‘09 but never got more than a few chapters finished mostly because I was playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at the time if I remember correctly.

Well, that changed midway through December of last year when I decided to Nike. I passed the game on Amateur, Normal, not in that order mind you, and I am currently 2 chapters away from passing the game on Veteran difficulty. You can also unlock extra costumes, guns and a lot of extra goodies that add to the replay value.

Fireball!!

It was cold Friday night after a whole lot of Black Ops that I found myself alone after all my friends had gone to bed. So there I was online, bored out of my mind just doing nothing, as usual, when I decided to check the PlayStation store for demos.

After checking for a while I found the Magic The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers demo. Now, I am not a newbie when it comes to Collectible Card Games but for some reason I was never attracted to Magic. To make a long story short, after playing for a while I think I am hooked.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

by Edwin on December 1, 2010

in Hobbies

If you are a regular reader of this blog then you know that I am a gamer, have been ever since I can remember. I also have been playing online ever since I laid my hands on COD 4 thanks to my brother and nephew. Well, on November 9th Call of Duty: Black Ops came out, my brother and I left at about 11:45 pm on a cold windy night and stood in line, check the semi blurry pic below taken with my G1, to get it and have been playing it ever since.

That first night of gaming was pretty bad, the online gameplay was laggy with a lot of connection problems that sometimes led to frozen screens that could only be fixed by turning off the game. The lag has been fixed in my opinion but the other problems remain, not as bad as before but still annoying. Here is hoping that the remaining problems are fixed as soon as possible.

I Want Those Androids!

by Edwin on July 26, 2010

in Hobbies

As you know, if you have been reading this blog for a while, I changed phone companies a little more than a year ago. One of the main reasons that I decided to change was because I was intrigued by the Android OS and ever since I have been using I have become a big fan of it.

Sometime in January, if I remember correctly, I read an article about some Android toys, check the picture down there, that were going to be sold but by the time I checked it out they had been sold out, just my luck.

Last week I read that once again those Androids are going to be available and I plan on getting me some as soon as I can, yeah.

KDR 1.37

by Edwin on April 15, 2010

in Hobbies

So once upon a time a game called Modern Warfare 2 came along and I just had to get it. I started to play the game and I was doing ok, my Kill to Death Ratio or kdr was 1.49 but then something happened. I don’t know why but I started to suck at it and my kdr went all the way down to 1.30 which to me was very disappointing. I am better than that, so much better than I think that a kdr od between 1.50 and 2.00 is where I should be. Lately I have been playing good again and have managed to bring my kdr up to 1.37 and I am not stopping there.

Back at It

I am back to my old ways again, I go to bed real late and wake up even later. Before it really was a problem when I was working but since I am not I just don’t worry about it. What is keeping me up at night?, well, if you are a regular reader then you know that I play video-games, hey it’s one of my hobbies. I have been playing Modern Warfare 2 a lot just like when I was playing COD 4. I will have more on that on a coming post. Have a great week and I will see you Monday morning bright and early as usual.

Modern Warfare 2!!

by Edwin on November 16, 2009

in Hobbies

I spent the weekend playing Modern Warfare 2 which the follow up to a game that I played for a long time named Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game came out last Tuesday and I have been playing ever since and not even hunger, lack of sleep or pain could stop me.

I do have to say, I am having a bit of trouble getting kills in the game. I am attributing that to the fact that I am still learning the maps. I am not saying that I am horrible at it, I am just saying that I am very inconsistent. Some games are good and some are right down bad and I don’t like that. I want to be consistent from game to game and hopefully I will get there.

I am having a lot of fun.

What Does That mean?

by Edwin on July 8, 2009

in Hobbies

So there I am playing COD 4 this past weekend just having a grand old time when all of the sudden in the middle of a game I get kicked out, not by the host mind you, and I get this message, “Couldn’t get free content pack index”. So I get into another game and a few minutes into that one I get kicked out again. I then played a couple of games and everything worked just fine and then all of the sudden the same thing happens. I started to get annoyed so instead of making a big deal out of it I just turned it off hoping that the next day everything would be ok.

Next day comes my way, I get into some games with no problems when all of the sudden I get kicked again and that same message appears. I checked my cables, my router and modem and found no problems so them I decided to turn it off and do some research. Found a lot of, try this advice but nothing definite as to what the cause of the problem was so armed with that knowledge I went back to playing and sure enough the same thing happened, I turned it off and sat there pouting.

Fast forward to Monday, I get home from work and I play a few games with no problems whatsoever so I play again on Tuesday again with no problems and I am hoping that the problem, whatever it was, it’s gone. If the problem re-appears I will let you know about it but in the meantime it’s clobbering time!.
