Quarterfinals

by Edwin on June 30, 2010

in Futbol

It took quite a while but we finally know the teams that will play in the quarterfinals starting this Friday.

On Friday we have Uruguay vs. Ghana and the Netherlands vs. Brazil.

On Saturday we have Argentina vs. Germany and Paraguay vs. Spain.

Check your local listing grab a cup of coffee, sit on the recliner and enjoy, I know that I will be doing just that. I do have to say that I am very disappointed with the US, another horrible game with no midfield, a crummy defense and a bunch of missed chances and that is all I am going to say, disappointing indeed.

Bring It!!

by Edwin on June 25, 2010

in Futbol

The weekend is finally here and I can’t wait for it. In case you didn’t know the World Cup is not finished yet. The round of sixteen starts tomorrow and this is it, you win you move on, you lose you are going home so now it’s the time to bring it.

There are two games tomorrow, Uruguay vs. South Korea and in the second game the US will face Ghana, check your local listings for times. The winners of tomorrow’s games will meet on July 2nd for a chance to move on to the semifinals.

I expect the US to win tomorrow’s game.

New Live Writer

by Edwin on June 24, 2010

in Technology

After waiting, and waiting, and waiting and a lot more waiting the new Windows Live Writer came out today. I woke up late as usual, got online and then I saw that the new Live Writer was available. I downloaded it as soon as I could and I am using it to write this very post.I like the new look and interface a lot, just takes some getting used to. If you use the newest versions of Microsoft office then you’ll be familiar with the new ribbon interface. Click here if you want do download it and give it a test drive. One more small test to go, I am going to post this and see how it looks. I had to stop using my old version of Live Writer because it started to act up, hopefully that won’t happen again.

Round of Sixteen

by Edwin on June 23, 2010

in Futbol

I have been busy watching the World Cup since it started back on June 11th. This morning I watched the U.S. vs Argelia game and I have to say I was pretty upset. They had so many chances to score but just couldn’t put it in the back of the net. Finally they scored and thanks to that win they are moving on to the round of 16 and face Ghana this coming Saturday where they are going to have to really “bring it” otherwise they won’t make it any farther.

I have been pretty angry at the way the team has been playing. In the game vs England they got lucky and played really horribly, couldn’t get two passes together. In the game vs Slovenia they played a horrible first half but thankfully they turned that around in the second half. I just haven’t seen that much consistency for 90 minutes, they suck one half and play better the next and that simply will not do at the biggest tournament on the planet.

I am happy that they made it to the next round but really hope that the team steps up their game, and fast.

Bunch of Idiots!!

by Edwin on June 18, 2010

in Uncategorized

The Lakers won their 16th NBA championship yesterday, I watched the game even though I am not that much of a basketball fan anymore. After the game was over a bunch of idiots had to make the city and themselves look bad. They were rocking cars, breaking windows, throwing objects at police, a car was set on fire, a guy was beaten, people setting off fireworks and driving up and down city streets honking their horns, it was pretty embarrassing to say the least. I understand celebrating but there is a line that can’t be crossed and these idiots crossed it as soon as they broke their first window and all because of a basketball game. I guess their parents never taught then to respect other people’s property, way to go idiots!!.

A Beer!!

by Edwin on June 16, 2010

in What?!!

We had a bunch of family over to celebrate my sis graduation and that was fun even though I don’t like parties that much. Something funny happened to me at the party, I went to the cooler to get a Sprite, I opened it up and grabbed what looked like one. I went back to my seat and was wrapping a napkin around it when I noticed that it was a beer, yes, a beer!. So, when I noticed that it was a beer I looked at my nephew and my brother’s gf and we started to laugh at which point I got up and took the beer back to the cooler and grabbed a Coke instead. Afterwards, we were talking about it and they told me that they didn’t know what was going when they saw me with that beer in hand because everybody knows that I don’t drink. I’ll make sure to double check from now on whenever I go to a cooler to grab a soft drink.

World Cup 2010

by Edwin on June 10, 2010

in Futbol

Every four years something bigger comes along, bigger than the Superbowl, bigger than the Olympics and that is the FIFA World Cup. 32 teams from around the planet will duck it out for absolute supremacy and bragging rights. Tournament starts tomorrow morning so check your local listings because we are going to have to get up real early.

Now it’s time for predictions, I know you were waiting for that. I am predicting, along with a bunch of people, that Spain will win it all. I am also predicting that the U.S. will get to the round of 16 but hoping that they make it farther. It’s going to be quite a month but I am ready and I know that you are as well.

T-Mobile

by Edwin on June 9, 2010

in Technology

It has been exactly a year since I moved from AT&T to T-Mobile. At the time I was looking for a better plan with more minutes, Internet and text and after doing a lot of research I decided to go with T-Mobile plus they had the HTC G1 running the Android OS and I really wanted that phone because of all the cool apps, more on that on a different post.Call quality has been pretty good, dropped calls I had them with AT&T and I’ve had then with T-Mobile as well, nothing is perfect after all. Overall I have been pretty happy with T-Mobile and would recommend it to anyone but as usual, don’t take my word for it. Do as much research as you can and then decide for yourself.

New Theme?

by Edwin on June 3, 2010

in Just Stuff

If you have been a reader of this blog since the beginning then you know that over time I have tried a few different blog themes finally settling on the one you see now. Truth be told, I have always wanted to have something original but often times original means expensive.

Back in March of ’09 I bought a theme but never got around to writing about it or installing it for that matter and I want to do something about that. I do need to update WordPress to the latest version first. I am going to have to check with my web host about that because the last thing that I want to do is to do it myself and then mess up everything.

I’ll keep you posted.
