Long Weekend Here I Come!!

It’s Friday and I am glad that today is my last day of work because starting tomorrow I am officially on vacation!!. I am flying out of LAX Saturday morning at 7:10 am and will land in Greenville, SC at about 4:40 pm. I have been waiting for this vacation for a while for two reasons and here they are in no particular order.

Reason 1, I am so banged up that I really need more than a two day weekend to heal my body, right now I pretty much ache all over and the 16 day weekend should help me a lot.

Reason 2, and the most important reason of all, I am going to go see my girlfriend. I can’t wait to spend some time together and just have fun together, I just hope she doesn’t sing that song from that Harry Potter video she likes, just kidding.

I will continue to blog during my vacation so don’t worry about that, I know you need your daily dose of Edwin to help you make it through your day. Have a great weekend and I will see you Monday morning bright and early, as usual.

Lousy Kid!!

by Edwin on August 12, 2009

in What?!!

Last month my girlfriend and I decided to go to the Getty Museum but instead of taking KITT, I mean my borrowed car we decided to take the bus. So after some research we found out which buses we had to take. We left early Saturday morning at about 9 am and quickly got our first bus, line 1 from the big blue bus from the city of Santa Monica. We got off at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Westwood Blvd and there we waited for the MTA line 761.

Once on the 761 and after a couple of stops and since I wasn’t sure if the next stop was the one we were supposed to get off at I asked a kid sitting a few seats away if the next stop was the Getty Center stop to which he replied, “I think so”, I said thank you and when the bus stopped we got off. Well, that wasn’t the stop. So then we start to walk, we keep walking and we run into a guy having a smoke, I asked him how far the Getty Center was, “from the light half to three quarters of a mile” he replied pointing straight ahead so we headed that way.

Next thing we know, we are walking, and walking and I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on that kid, if I ever were to see him again that day or ever again which was highly unlikely. The sun was beating on us and we were already sweating a bit, then all of the sudden from behind me I hear “Snape, snape, severus , snape”, I then stop and when I turn around my girlfriend goes, “Dumbledore!”. I then wondered if the heat had finally gotten to her and was ready to call 911 when I remembered that she was singing a song from a Harry Potter You Tube video she likes. We smiled and laughed and continued on our painful trek.

Then after some 25 miles of walking without water or shade, ok maybe not 25 miles but you get my point, we finally got to the entrance with aching feet, sweaty brows and eyes wide open looking for that kid. Moral of the story, don’t ask kids for directions and don’t wear flip flops.

Me Forget To Write

Hey children of the corn, I am back once again and if you listen carefully you can hear that Back in the Saddle Again song playing in the background, fine, you can’t. Anyway, I have been away from the trenches for about a month now in case you didn’t notice and I can thank my nagging pain for that.

To make a long story short that nagging pain hit me with a vengeance and by that I mean, pain when walking, sitting, bending, laying in bed and pretty much everything else. All I wanted to do was to stay in bed every morning that I woke up because of the pain and as soon as I got home from work I would climb back in bed again. I did go to work and lived my life as best as I could  but I just didn’t have enough to blog or to play Call of Duty 4 during that time, ok, maybe just a bit of COD 4. I am doing better and I can thank the pills or my healing factor for that, I personally think it’s the latter.

A normal person would go to the doctor to have it looked at and I will go as soon as I can’t walk but I don’t see that happening anytime soon so I should be all right. In the meantime I will continue to take Aleve and when that fails I will use that mind over matter thing. Have a great weekend and I will see you Monday morning bright and early and for the record, it’s good to be back, yeah!!.
