Why oh why do three day weekends fly by so fast?, I really wish I knew because it seems that just yesterday it was Thursday and I was getting ready to enjoy my three day weekend and the next thing I know it’s Monday and back to work. I am not happy about it but what can I do, the simple answer is nothing, so it’s back to work for me. It sure sucks being poor I tell you, anyway. The weekend was very nice, I didn’t do that much to be honest, I basically played a lot of COD 4 and slept even more. I went to bed late and woke up even later but then again that is something that I do very often as you know, I really need a vacation and I need it soon!!.
That is right!, I don’t work today and that means that I have a three day weekend and you know how much I enjoy those. It’s a holiday here in California but only for some, not all but I happen to be in the some category and that’s just fine with me. I am going to do my best and try to relax and sleep as much as I can, believe me when I say that I really need it. As far as the weather goes, it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful sunny weekend, I may just lounge under the peach tree sipping coffee or ice cold green tea watching all the pretty women walking by, that sounds like a plan to me.

in What?!!
Once upon a time, ok this happened in January, I received a magazine by mail which I thought was odd because I never ordered it to begin with. I honestly didn’t think any of it, I thought that it was a trial offer to see if I liked it, I leafed through it and it is a nice magazine but I would never order it. The following month I got another issue, I said to myself at the time and I mentioned it to my sister as well that I would call the magazine and ask them why I was getting it. In March I got another issue, didn’t call, you can call me lazy but I do prefer that you call me busy but in reality it’s a bit of both. I already got the next issue, last week I think, and when my sister saw it she asked me if I had called and when I said no she just said, “of course.” I did say that I would call them and I will, just as soon a I have some free time or I get the first bill, whichever comes first.
It was a sad weekend here in California, flags have been flying at half staff because of the murder of three police officers this past Saturday, a fourth one is on life support. Who committed this crime?, a parolee and a model citizen that had served a six year sentence for assault with a firearm during an armed robbery, that according to what I read online. If it had been up to me he wouldn’t have been out on the streets, believe me.
I am sure that someone will make excuses for the model citizen. I have news for them, each of us make our own bed, we choose what we want to with our lives, we can either be decent people and follow the rules or take the easy way out and prey on the innocent. I don’t feel sorry for him, he is dead by the way, and I hope that nobody else does either. My heart goes out to the officer’s families for their loss.
When I am at work I drink on average about 3 cups of coffee a day, what can I say?, I like coffee. I have won free coffee about three times this week which isn’t that much considering that I buy 15 cups during the week but hey, a free cup is a free cup. I tell my friends about it and all they do is give me lip about how I never buy them a cup to which I quickly answer that they are never around when I buy coffee or win, so what do they want me to do?, go look for them. Yesterday it happened again, I put in my 75 cents and lo and behold I am a winner and here come my coins, am I at work or Vegas?, back to me, this time one of my big mouth friends was around so I asked her if she wanted a cup and she replied no. I then told her that she better not give me lip about me not buying her a cup and wouldn’t you know it she quickly changed her mind and said yes. I think that coffee machine likes me, can’t wait to see her again today.
Yesterday was Saint Patrick’s Day and it’s a custom to wear green or else you get pinched. I decided not to wear green for one simple reason, I wanted to be pinched by a beautiful blonde, brunette, redhead or all three at the same time but I am not that lucky or Irish so my plan backfired and I didn’t get pinched at all, I was so sad. Somewhere out there there must be a Silver Wings Princess for me, I hope that she gets here soon because I know that she is the only one that can bring balance to my life.

After a long wait Futbol season it’s finally here again and I couldn’t be happier. The first game of the season kicks off this very Thursday between the New York Red Bulls and the newest team in the league, the Seattle Sounders FC. My team, the four time champion DC United will play on Sunday against the L.A. Galaxy and I know we are going to win.
On related news, I already picked my Fantasy Futbol team and if you want to do the same you still have time, so get over there and Nike, hope you got that. This time I am hoping to do a lot better than last season so I brought back some of my best players along with some new ones and I can’t wait.
My cell phone is a Motorola Q Global that I got as a birthday present last year. It’s a very nice and useful phone, I have even written posts with it that I later transferred to my my blog editor as you know. Well, recently I was checking a website and there I found out that there was an update for Windows Mobile 6.0 which is the one that my phone came with. As I kept reading I found out that said update had come out last year!!, how did I miss that?, easy, I wasn’t paying attention obviously. Anyway, I downloaded it, followed the directions and lo and behold my Q is running Windows Mobile 6.1 and so far I like it. I have had some problems unlocking my phone and I don’t know if it’s me but it does feel a bit slower when I click on something but that is basically it. I have not checked everything that the update offers but overall I am happy and would recommend the update.

Finally made it to the dentist yesterday and I have good news and bad news to tell you. Lets start with the bad news first, the dentist told me that I need a root canal, possibly two. Remember that not too long ago I mentioned that one of my fillings just fell off and wouldn’t you know it that molar needs one of the root canals. The other root canal will be done only if I want to on an existing root canal that was done when I was 14 I think, it doesn’t hurt so I am going to leave it alone.
Now lets move on to the good news if you can call them good news. I only have one cavity which isn’t bad considering that the last time I went to the dentist was about 10 years ago. My insurance will cover 80% of the cost which is great but I am going to have to take care of the rest and that means that my debt will be going up and that is not good news at all, and you wonder why I don’t like going to the dentist.

My cell phone carrier is AT&T which used to be Cingular a while back if you remember. I was checking for a data plan, preferably one with unlimited Internet access and text messaging and the cheapest unlimited plan I found was for $50 dollars and that’s only because my phone is a Smartphone. That would make my monthly bill go from an average of $45 dollars or less to $95 dollars, that is assuming I don’t pay any other fees. Things being the way they are right now the last thing I want to do is to just sign on without looking at alternatives first. I checked T-Mobile because they have a phone I like and their unlimited data plan for the G1, the phone I like, is only $35 dollars. If I choose that plan plus their phone plan the monthly bill would be $74.98 that is not including fees. I made some assumptions based on how much I pay in fees for my current AT&T plan and if I am right the monthly bill would be close to $90 dollars, again just an assumption on my part, which is only $5 dollars less that I would pay if I were to get the AT&T plan but these days a buck is a buck, right?. Anyway, I’ll let you know what happens.
