There is a Halloween party today at work so I have my costume ready, not much of a costume really. It’s just my Superman cape, shirt and cap and that is it. I was thinking of being Capt DC United but somehow my Superman cape doesn’t match with my DC United jersey that well. Speaking of matching, at last year’s Halloween party I wore my Superman cape, a Batman T-shirt and a grocery bag over my head so as you can see the matching thing is only an excuse. I think I am going to go with the Superman costume just because I’ll match but if I change my mind at the last minute you’ll know about it. I know a lot of my friends are going to dress up and not that many of them told me what their costumes were going to be but that is ok, I am going to take my brothers camera and snap some pictures. I do know that it is going to be a fun Halloween.
I have been listening to this Whitesnake song way too much and the saddest part of all is that I don’t have a special woman in my life. I do have three women that I like but nothing serious, still I can’t stop playing this song and I don’t know why.

This is the way I am when it comes to calling a woman on the phone. You see, just because I have your phone number that doesn’t meant that I am going to be calling you every hour specially when we just met, I am not like that. Instead what I always do is to ask when and what time I can call you. I will call but if you don’t answer I will leave you a message and then the ball is in your court. If you don’t call me back guess what, I am not going to call you back again. Why am I bringing this up?, I sure have no idea but I just wanted to get that off my chest.
As you know I did some online shopping last Saturday and I honestly was not expecting to receive my coat that fast but I did. It arrived this past Wednesday and I was a very happy guy to say the least. I opened the box put it on and it fits just perfect. I gotta say that I look damn good in that coat but that is just my opinion, I showed it to my mom and she says that it looks good as well and who am I to argue with mom. I may have to take a picture of me wearing it to prove it, we’ll see.
While we are on the subject of shopping let me tell you that on Thursday I went back to the Macy’s site to look around. I went to suits and separates and lo and behold the suit I’ve been wanting for a while was on sale, I even wrote about it here. I got me the Donald J. Trump black stripe suit and ended up paying $173.19 total. I got free shipping and an extra 20% discount at checkout and that offer is still available as I write this. So if you are looking for a suit now would be a good time to get one.
My shopping is not done just yet, I still have to buy some jeans and I am sure that I am going to do that this weekend but I am not holding my breath on that.
If you are a regular reader of this blog then you know that I am a huge fan of The Amazing Race. In my opinion it’s the best reality show out there and I have been watching it since the beginning. I have watched all seasons but one and that was only because I was working too much. It is a family affair, we all sit together and watch it and to make it even more interesting we choose 2 or 3 teams each to see who is going to have bragging rights at the end of the season.
Last season I chose Ari and Staella and Rachel and TK and I ended up first when Rachel and TK took first place and the million dollar prize. As the winner I got to choose teams first this season and so I chose Anthony and Stephanie and Marisa and Brooke. My last team was eliminated this past Sunday and now I am in last place which is very sad. From first to last in one season, my family was sure letting me have it and being the good sport that I am I was taking it. Still it sure sucks being last.
I was going to go shopping during the weekend for some new jeans but I didn’t. I am going to have to use my emergency jeans (yes I do have some old jeans that I don’t wear anymore because they are a different style that I used to wear) in the meantime until I get myself over to the store and that probably will be next weekend. I did manage to shop online at Macy’s on Saturday and bought me a coat but If I had waited for Sunday I would have been able to buy one coat at regular price and get another one free and pay 99 cents for shipping, just my luck. That is ok, there is always next time. Anyway, I got me a Kenneth Cole New York Miles Wool Twill Dress Coat that is going for $350 dollars now, I paid about $208.38 on Saturday. I got in in charcoal because espresso is just not my color. When I first saw this coat I just knew that I had to have it and when I get it I’ll let you know about it.
It finally happened, my pants finally ripped and now I really have to go shopping. I am going to go this weekend and I already know what I need to buy. Levis 559 jeans, T-shirts, a blazer, a suit, a coat (wool preferred) for the coming winter and I think that is it. I usually do my shopping twice a year, January and July but I will make an executive decision and do it now because it’s an emergency. I don’t mind walking around with holes in my T-shirts but holes in my pants where there should be no holes is a big no no, I could be arrested for indecent exposure. I also need shoes, socks, a camera, a video camera, some new video games, some Blu-ray movies and maybe a new hat. This is going to be very expensive and my budget is going to take a real hit, I think I am going to put it on my card and worry about it next month.
I met somebody about two Sundays ago and I can’t stop thinking about her. I am not going to go into details about how we met but if things evolve I’ll let you know. As much as she is on my mind it looks like this is not going to go anywhere and that is sad but it happens. If things don’t work out I will just turn the page, move on and keep on living.

I was on my way to work yesterday and I stopped at the local Rite Aid to get some medicine since I am still sick. So being the type of guy that I am when it comes to shopping I went to the medicine aisle and I grabbed what I was looking for and quickly headed to the checkout lane. I get to the cashier, she scans my medicine and then tells me the amount, I swiped my card and then she said to me, “I am going to need to see some id for that”. I laughed and pulled out my id to show it to her and at the same time she pointed to screen and said to me, “see it says that I have to check id, it’s a new law” to which I responded “there is a first time for everything.” I got my medicine and my receipt and out the door I went. I have never been carded before for buying medicine and that to say the least was very funny to me.
The weekend came and went and I sure didn’t pay that much attention to it. Maybe it was because I was sick or medicated or both. It started on Friday a couple of hours before I got home from work. I started to sneeze like crazy, had a runny nose, my eyes were watery and my throat hurt.
I got home took some medicine and went straight to bed but I just couldn’t sleep and that didn’t bother me because as you know I usually go to bed late. So I started to play Call of Duty and I don’t know if it was my skills or the medication but I was playing good. I ended up going to bed at about 5am and didn’t wake up until 4pm. I get up and I check what is on TV and sure enough there was a game at 4:30pm between the FC Dallas and the Toronto FC and it was a great game that ended in a 2-2 tie. Night time came and again I played some more COD 4 and went to bed at about 3am. The misery continued on Sunday, I felt bad all day. I got up at about 2pm, I took my medicine, got some food, watched Project Runway and then watched the Amazing Race 13 and did some blog related work. I ended up going to bed at 3am and that was the end of my lousy weekend.
The sad part about the whole thing is that I have to go to work today and I am not feeling that good yet. I am just going to have to deal with it the best way I can.
