I Moved Into The Ark

by Edwin on January 28, 2008

in Weekend Recap

It has rained sooooo much here lately that I moved into the ark as soon as I found it because I was afraid of waking up floating down the L.A. river. As a result of all that rain I didn’t get to enjoy my last two days in the long nine day weekend I had. I stayed indoors watching TV and playing COD 4, on the positive side of things as if being lazy wasn’t positive I finally shaved because I had not done that since the day I went on vacation. Other than that it was a very wet and cold weekend . And from what I hear it will rain some more this week but that is ok, I don’t mind the rain and all the sounds associated with it, specially at night when you are sleeping. To me it has a calming feeling that I enjoy. Now it’s time to get back to work and the same ol routine, yep.

Looking For An Ark

by Edwin on January 24, 2008

in Just Stuff

That was I was looking for yesterday because it rained cats and dogs here in L.A. in the afternoon, I don’t know about the morning because I was asleep :) . And to top it all off we had a flash flood warning. I got up at 4 PM I think it was and then sat down to check what was on so I ended up watching two movies, “Underworld: Evolution” an excellent movie that I own and hope to get on Blue Ray as soon as I can, and “Superman Returns” which was ok, I don’t like the fact that Superman has a kid in the movie and that really pisses me off when they make up stuff in movies. To me that is wrong and disrespectful to the original comic books and to comic book readers like me, that is my opinion ok nothing more. The rest of the day I spent doing some reading  and playing you know what game, see you later.

Just Taking A Break

by Edwin on January 22, 2008

in Just Stuff

It is official, I am on a nine day vacation but to me it is a nine day weekend. After asking a couple of times before for some time off and after being denied I was finally granted four days vacation. Let me see, the weekend that just finished plus yesterday’s Holiday, plus my four days vacation, plus the coming weekend equals a nine day long weekend in my book. I am not going to do anything special I just want to rest, rest and more rest. I am so tired and I just don’t know why, I don’t know if it’s my late night COD 4 games or whatever it is I have to do something about it. This week is going to be cool and with some sprinkles maybe rain but that is ok because I like rain.

One More Day

by Edwin on January 21, 2008

in Weekend Recap

The weekend came and it left faster than light, ok maybe not faster than light but you get my picture. I didn’t do that much this weekend but I did get a lot of sleep because I really need it. Saturday was a very bad day because of my lack of sleep and as a result I was tired all day. So I said to myself, today you are going to bed early  so I ended up going to bed at about 3 AM. Sunday I got up at 4 PM just in time to do nothing. I played for a while and then when 8 PM came along it was time for the Amazing Race 12 finale. It was a great show and I am happy to report that my team TK and Rachel won and that means than when the next AR comes along I get to choose teams first. It was a good weekend and I am sure ready for the next one. A good weekend and the good thing is that we still have one more day to go, yep.

Check My COD 4 Stats

by Edwin on January 16, 2008

in Hobbies

I know, I know this game seems to have taken over my life but that is not the case. I play maybe every other day now and for about an hour each time. I don’t think that is so bad. In fact after my post Addicted to Call Of Duty 4? ran on January 4 2008 I stopped playing for about a week and as a result my stats went downhill. Check the picture below to see my rankings as of 1/14/08. You can see my rank, my score, how much I have played, how many kills and deaths I have and you can see my name, Capt. Edwin. When I first started to play COD 4 I used to, in the famous words of my nephew and brother, suck but as time went by I got better. I am not saying that I am the best, no. What I am saying is that I am an ok player that knows the ins and outs of the game. To me it is nothing but nice, clean fun.

The Sunny Weekend

by Edwin on January 14, 2008

in Weekend Recap

The weekend was sunny and nice here in L.A. and I sure did not mind that. I didn’t do that much to be honest, of course I wrote some post for today but most of the time I slept………….a lot. I have been nursing this nagging pain I’ve had for the last three months that just won’t leave me alone. It comes and goes and the last couple of weeks it has been bad, I know it’s a muscle because when I stretch it feels better.

I watched a couple of movies, “Lady In The Water” and “Ghostbusters”, I highly recommend both of them. And of course I played Call Of Duty 4 but after I stopped playing for 3 days I was a bit rusty but I am back. I have been having problems with the new router, sometimes I can’t play online and sometimes I can’t connect with my laptop Sunshine and it gets me annoyed more than anything. I watched the celebrity Apprentice and The Amazing Race and just in case you have never watched it then this coming Sunday is the time to do it, it is the 2 hour season finale and I can’t wait because one of my teams made it and I have no doubt that my team will win the one million dollar prize. And of course today is back to work day, yep.

Shopping Day

by Edwin on January 10, 2008

in Just Stuff

Back in January the first I went shopping with some family members. There are a bunch of sales as we all know but I was mainly looking for two specific items that were on my list. On to Best Buy we go to look for those two items. As you al know I am a fan of Resident Evil 4, I am a fan of the Resident evil franchise to be honest and have been since I first played that game. So it’s no surprise that when the movies came out I had to check them out. Well the trilogy was out so I had to get it and I did on Blue Ray for $58.99 plus tax, item on list checked. The next item on my list was a new wireless router and I got it for $50 dollars plus tax, item on list checked. I got what I was looking for so then we decided to go to the mall, we walked around and then we got to this one toy store I visit every once in a while so of course I had to go in and it’s a good thing that I did. There I found two new action figures from my favorite comic book so I had to get them, $12 dollars each plus tax, items not on list checked. We head on home but stop at Target to see if there is anything good, once there each of us went their separate way. I walked around trying to check as much as I could when I saw a Superman cap. I went over and realized that it was a combo, T-shirt and cap for only $12.99 plus tax so I grabbed one, items not on list checked. I continued walking when I saw some Pokemon toys and there I saw a Pikachu that would go “Pika………chuuuuuuuuuuuu” every time you pulled its arm down so sure enough being a fan of the show I got one also, item not on list checked. We finally got home I checked all the loot and added up the totals for a grand total of $168.28.

I took this picture of all the stuff I have been enjoying ever since and that will be paying for, for the rest of the year.

Addicted to Call Of Duty 4?

by Edwin on January 4, 2008

in What?!!

That is what everybody is telling me nowadays. My mother, my sister, my brother and even my nephew is saying it. Do I believe it?, not at all. The way I see it I work hard and when I get my hands on a new game I play it like it’s going to be taken away from me right now. The way things really are is that after a while I play less and less until finally I play only frequently or not at all. So in my mind there is nothing to worry about. Before Call of Duty 4 came along I used to play X-2 The Threat just as much and it stopped and before X-2 The Threat I used to play Resident Evil 4 all the time and it stopped. It is a guy thing, when we get our hands on some new game we play it until it becomes boring, I do have to say though, I don’t think COD 4 will become boring. It gets better as I get better so I better get used to going to bed real late then. There was a lot of betters in that last sentence, anyway if you are a woman and you are reading this then please, leave your husband, your son, your boyfriend alone and trust me sooner or later they will stop playing, unless they are like me. If that is the case, tell them that I will see them online so we can play for a while.
